CPUC is seeking a dedicated Power Plant Operator to operate, monitor, and maintain power generation equipment to ensure a reliable supply of electricity. This position works closely with dispatchers and distribution personnel, troubleshoots operational issues, and follows safety procedures while working in environments that may involve extreme temperatures, confined spaces, and high-voltage equipment. Strong judgement, problem-solving skills, and attention to safety are essential for success in this role.

Responsibilities of the Position
Ensure constant flow of electricity to avoid blackouts.
Start diesel engines and synchronizes generators with other power sources.
Inspect equipment for malfunctions to report to maintenance supervisor.
Monitor instruments to maintain voltage.
Check equipment and valves that monitor pressure and temperature.
Perform minor adjustment or repair on machine and report major repairs to maintenance supervisor.
Log operational data and compile reports.
Adhere to all company policies.
Follow contamination control, rules, and regulations.
Ensure Standard Operating Procedures are followed.
Follow Safe working practice at all times.
Perform other duties as directed by Supervisor.
