CPUC is seeking a qualified Water Treatment Plant Operator to join our team.  The successful candidate will play a critical role in safeguarding public health by ensuring the delivery of safe, clean drinking water to our community through effective operation and monitoring of water treatment facilities.

Required Qualifications for Position
High School Diploma or GED required.
Proficient reading, writing, and verbal communication skills in English.
Strong interpersonal and teamwork abilities.
Basic mathematical and analytical skills.
Attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping.
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
Ability to work in various weather conditions and physically demanding environments.
Sufficient mobility to inspect equipment and facilities.
Flexibility to respond to emergency call-outs.
Previous experience in water treatment plant operations or related field.
Responsibilities of the Position
Monitor and record meter readings for well and treatment plant operations.
Regulate and maintain water pressure and chlorine levels throughout the distribution network.
Conduct daily inspections of treatment plant systems, equipment, and processes to ensure optimal performance.
Oversee the maintenance and operational integrity of the treatment plant and all active well sites.
Maintain comprehensive and accurate daily operational logs and records.
Document water quality test results and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
Records all maintenance activities and system malfunctions.
Conduct water quality laboratory tests and analyze results.
Adjust treatment processes based on test results and regulatory requirements.
Ensure all operations meet local and national quality standards.
Respond promptly to system emergencies and equipment malfunctions.
Adhere to all workplace safety protocols and procedures at all times.
Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
