CPUC is seeking a Power Plant Operator who will be responsible for operating and maintaining machinery that generates electricity. Operators collaborate closely with distributors to ensure a reliable flow of electricity to homes and business. The role may involve working in temperature extremes, confined spaces, and near high-voltage equipment. This position is ideal for individuals with strong judgment and excellent troubleshooting skills.

Responsibilities of the Position
Ensure constant flow of electricity to avoid blackouts.
Start diesel engines and synchronizes generators with other power sources.
Inspect equipment for malfunctions to report to maintenance supervisor.
Monitor instruments to maintain voltage.
Check equipment and valves that monitor pressure and temperature.
Perform minor adjustment or repair on machine and report major repairs to maintenance supervisor.
Log operational data and compile reports.
Adhere to all company policies.
Follow contamination control, rules, and regulations.
Ensure Standard Operating Procedures are followed.
Follow Safe working practice at all times.
Perform other duties as directed by Supervisor.
