CPUC is seeking a Power Inspector responsible for conducting inspections of residential and commercial electrical installations to ensure compliance with established policies, procedures, and safety standards prior to service connections. The position also performs regular meter inspections, assists with connection and disconnection of services, identifies illegal connections, and provides recommendations to improve the metering system while ensuring safe and reliable power service for customers.

Required Qualifications for Position
AS or AA from an accredited college program is preferred.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in electrical inspection or a related field.
Must have electrical background.
Excellent communication skills, including the ability to write clear and concise reports and provide technical advice in a professional manner .
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve issues related to power systems and installations.
Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.
Responsibilities of the Position
Conduct power inspections on new and existing connection, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures.
Inform customers of detailed inspection result and recommend actions to resolve non-compliant or unsafe electrical installations and systems.
Conduct meter inspections on a regular basis and makes recommendations to Billing Sections with regards to any illegal connections and other related matters.
Coordinate and conduct connection and disconnection tasks.
Respond promptly to customer inquiries.
Perform customer verifications.
Follow up on customer interaction.
Maintain power meters and assist with the improvement of metering system.
Ensure Standard Operating Procedures are followed at all times.
Follow safe working practice at all times.
Other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
