CPUC is seeking a motivated Junior Renewable Energy/Electrical Engineer to support the operation, maintenance, and monitoring of power generation and distribution systems.  This role offers an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career professional to gain hands-on experience in renewable energy integration, power systems operations, and sustainable energy management while contributing to CPUC's energy future.

Required Qualifications for Position
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering (recent graduates are encouraged to apply)
Coursework or certification in Renewable Energy, Power Systems, or Microgrids is an advantage
1-2 years of experience in power generation or renewable energy preferred
Basic understanding of diesel generators, solar PV systems, and electrical distribution networks
Foundational knowledge of electrical power systems
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and single-line diagrams
Familiarity with SCADA systems or monitoring platforms is an advantage
Genuine interest in renewable energy and sustainable power systems
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
Adaptability to remote working conditions and willingness to travel by sea
Commitment to long-term service in Chuuk to ensure continuity and professional growth
Responsibilities of the Position
Support daily operations of diesel generators, solar PV systems, and mini-grid infrastructure
Monitor system performance, identify irregularities, and assist with troubleshooting
Participate in preventive and corrective maintenance activities
Assist with commissioning and integration of renewable energy projects
Collect and analyze operational data to support performance reporting and system optimization
Contribute to the development of technical documentation and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
Travel by sea to lagoon and outer island locations to conduct inspections and provide operational support
Collaborate with local technical staff to support capacity building and knowledge transfer
