CPUC is SEEKING a skilled and safety-conscious Heavy Equipment Operator to join our Power Distribution team. The successful candidate will operate and maintain specialized heavy equipment to ensure the safe and efficient distribution of electricity. This role involves supporting line service delivery, performing routine equipment maintenance, and assisting with vegetation management to keep distribution lines clear.

Required Qualifications for Position
Proven experience operating heavy equipment, preferably in the utility or power distribution industry.
Knowledge of basic equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
Strong commitment to safety and adherence to standard operating procedures.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
High school diploma or equivalent; relevant technical training is a plus.
Responsibilities of the Position
Operate and maintain heavy equipment to support the operation of primary and secondary power distribution lines.
Perform routine maintenance of specialized equipment, including cleaning and checking oil, water, and hydraulic levels.
Assist with the maintenance of distribution lines, equipment, poles, transformers, meters, and service lines.
Support tree trimming and vegetation control/removal to ensure clear and safe distribution pathways.
Assist in the extension of new distribution lines and installation of transformers.
Follow all Standard Operating Procedures and ensure safe working practices at all times.
Collaborate with team members and supervisors to maintain high standards of professionalism and safety.
Perform other duties as assigned.
