Power Generation Manager  – Chuuk Public Utility Corporation

Weno, Chuuk, Federated States of  Micronesia

Applications are invited from suitably qualified persons for the position of Power Generation Manager (PGM).

CPUC is the utility service provider for the State of Chuuk in Federated States of Micronesia. Currently providing grid service to the island of Weno – population 13,500 – CPUC is seeking the services of a Power Generation Manager to oversee day to day operations and expansion of power generation on the island of Weno.

The PGM will have oversight of all CPUC power generation operations, supporting and developing technical and supervisory staff in the delivery of reliable power to CPUC customers.

CPUC is in the process of undertaking a critical power related investment to rebuild the central power house to improve generation efficiency and ensure long-term sustainability of power generation;

The PGM will have project management oversight in the delivery of this project as well as maintaining day to day current generation activity.

The initial contract period will be for 18 months.

Qualifications &Experience

Candidates must have a recognized qualification and at least 12 years experience of diesel fired power generation.

The successful candidate will have experience of project management; operating medium voltage electrical systems; US RUS standards; managing and motivating work teams; working cooperatively to achieve corporate objectives; and other management skills required in public service provision

The successful applicant will be required to obtain satisfactory police and medical checks, costs of which will be reimbursed by CPUC.
